We did it !!

In January my sister in law Lindsey talked me into running a mini triathlon with her, and yesterday we did it !! It was fun (even though today I feel like I've been hit by a car) I wasn't able to train as much as I wanted, so I wasn't where I wanted to be physically, but I still completed it, which was my goal ;) I'd like to thank the 67 year old woman who as she was passing me on her bike said, "come on were going to do this !" What an awesome lady ! At 67 running triathlons. I thought, if this lady can do it at her age, I have no excuses ;) Also, thanks to my awesome family and friends who came out to support me ! I love you guys !

After the race we celebrated by going to JCW's.. They have awesome burgers and fries, and even awesomer (yes awesomer) shakes. If you go there I highly recommend the peanut butter and cookies dough shake. Yum !

Instead of going home and crashing, Ryan and I went camping up Farmington canyon. It was fun ! Ryan was very proud of his fire that he started with no matches. Go babe ! All in all it was a very busy and very fun weekend. Um... if you need me... I'll be napping on my couch because I am pooped !

Ok, Let's Recap.......

Where to begin ? Ryan and I celebrated our first anniversary on May 3rd ! Were officially old news ;) We were lucky enough to spend our anniversary at the happiest place ever....... Disneyland !!

We left for our trip on April 30th and we drove there. Good thing I have gotten over my car sickphase, or that would have been an impossible drive for me. The drive there actually was not as bad as I expected it to be. We only stopped once, in St. George. We both thought it was pretty funny, normally when we just go down to St.George for the weekend or something, we end up making one or two rest stops before we get there, but driving to California which takes twice as long, we were able to make it on one stop total. I credit that to my awesome road trip treat picking out abilities, and Ryans amazing choice in DVD's to watch ;) I wouldn't let us watch the DVD's until we were half way. So down to St George we listened to our California road trip soundtrack which consisted of songs that merely mentions the word California or Disneyland ;) Then we solved some pretty awesome riddles, then finally the half way mark came and we were able to pop in the 2nd season of Arrested Development. I just need to say to those of you who have not watched this show, You must, you simply must, few shows can make me have a deep hearty belly laugh... but this show does !!

Day 1
Knotts Berry Farm:

Neither of us had been here and had a blast. By far my favorite ride there was Ghostrider which is a huge wooden roller coaster. The white roller coaster at Lagoon doesn't hold a candle to this thing. The picture is of a guy doing an amazing Indian dance where he danced with a bunch of hoops and would make a bunch of different shapes, animals, etc with them. Very cool. I had the best berry punch ever. I am not a punch fan, but this Knotts berry punch was amazing. Seriously, its a must try if any of you ever get there. Ryan one a basketball of a team he doesn't like, he was so close to winning a jersey! Still the ball was way cool ;) Ryan and I discovered that we are no longer 13 and can eat half a pizza and then go ride a bunch of roller coaster. We ate breakfast about 30 minutes before getting to the park, rode two roller coaster, then took an hour break and rode kids rides because we were about ready to lose our breakfast ;)

Day 2

Six Flags !!

Six Flags is insane !! By the time we had been at the park 4 hours we had only ridden on 2 coasters. We started with Ryans fav the Viper. Then headed to X2....... where we enjoyed a nice 3 hour wait in line. Though the wait is long, this coaster does not disappoint. As soon as the restraints locked I turned to Ryan and said, " I immediately regret this decision." This coaster is different because the way your seat is positioned there is no track under you...... it goes from near vertical drops, your seat rotating 360 degrees, flying through fog, and flames, and all the usual flips and turns. Way fun !! It defiantley made the other coaster I used to think was scary seem like kiddy rides ;) Six flags is fun, but it tires me out more then most parks, but we rode all the rides we both wanted to ride !

Day 3

Happy Anniversary in Disneyland !!

Day 3 was our 1st Anniversary. And where better to spend it than at Disneyland. I seriously love that place ! The picture is of us at Cafe Bayou, which is the restaurant you can see from inside of the Piractes of the Carribbean ride. It is so pretty. It is set up to look like your eating outside at night on the Bayou and your only light is from paper lanterns that you can't see too well in this picture. Very fun ! Its a fancy place so it feels weird cause everyone is there all sweaty in there sneakers and jeans etc. Neither Ryan or I were hungry, but it was the last opening they had, so we took it !! Who knows when else we'll get a chance to eat there again! We went on all our favorites starting as tradition with the Maderhorn. I would have to say my favorites are Tower of Terror, and Indiana Jones, but I really loved all the rides we went on. I thought the new Finding Nemo submarine ride was fun, even though I think submarines are creepy. I think they remind me of whales, and whales in open ocean are creepy....... Disneyland was also nice enough to have a fireworks display in honor of our anniversary........ ;) Disneyland was amazing and I didn't want to leave !!

Day 4
Beachy Beach

Aaaahhhh. By far the most relaxing day of the trip ! We went to Hunnington beach. We had fun just laying on the beach, and playing in the water. We went out to play in the water and I think Ryan forgot that I am about a foot shorter than him, because he wanted us to keep going out farther in the water, when the waves were already over my head. After my 3rd time of being carried back to shore by the waves I called it quits ;) Ryan refused to let me bring seashells home, but I can't blame him. Last time I left my shells in a drawer for a few days, which stunk up the room like fish, then when I took them out of the drawer I had a bag full of sea creatures. I guess I had picked shells that weren't empty yet . Opps !

Day 5

The long drive home. I was actually expecting the drive home to take longer, but it seemed faster to me. I think that is because I drove half the time, and going down I was so excited to get there !! All in all we had an awesome trip and I am so glad we were able to do that for our anniversary !!
